Mari Takeyama graduated with a B.A. in Art from Chapman University
and currently works as a freelance production artist in the entertainment industry. Her work is featured in both independent short films and music videos, which have been accepted into major studios such as Disney, Warner Brothers, Leverage and Stampede/Cashmere Music. Classically trained, Mari specializes in figure-form character concept drafting and dry media illustration techniques. She has experience in concept art, storyboarding, graphic design, illustration, portraitures, on-set art direction and production design. She also commercializes her art at Anime Expo, held annually at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Mari is involved with critiquing student portfolios, reviewing academic essays and tutoring. She views teaching art as a wonderful opportunity to connect with others in hopes of bringing the artistic community closer together.
